A California health care worker died after receiving a second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, says her late husband “believed in vaccines.”
After the second shot, radiologist Tim Zook’s health deteriorated dramatically and he was eventually taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he died Jan. 9. According to Zook’s wife, he showed the first symptoms of deterioration two and a half hours after the injection.
An investigation is underway into Zook’s death after he allegedly developed a wave of medical problems after administering a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The Orange County Coroner confirmed he is investigating Zook’s death, an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death. “If it is determined to be vaccine-related, we will notify authorities immediately,” said coroner spokeswoman Carrie Brown.
Zook, 60, worked at South Coast Medical Center in Santa Ana. Zook had stomach upset and breathing problems for several hours after the injection, and he became so ill that colleagues called an ambulance.
