The US Presidential Debate Commission has decided to cancel the second round of televised debates between US President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden’s Democratic candidate. The Washington Post reports.
The event was scheduled for Thursday 15 October. The commission noted that the corresponding decision was made due to the fact that the candidates announced their other plans for the evening.
They also clarified that they intend to concentrate on the final round of the debate, which is scheduled for October 22 and will be held in Nashville. The commission stressed that the date of October 29, proposed by Trump for the postponement of the event, was not agreed.
The first part of the Trump-Biden televised debate took place on September 29. The next round of presidential debates with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was scheduled for October 15. The latter also made a proposal to hold it in video format. The US presidential election will be held on November 3.
