“Smallville” star and former actress Allison Mack will be sentenced later this month for her role in the dangerous sex cult NXIVM.
Mack is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing later this month for her role as an assistant to cult leader Keith Raniere, convicted of sex trafficking, Variety reports. The news says Allison Mack, 38, known for her role as Chloe on “Smallville,” worked alongside convicted Raniere at NXIVM as a recruiter she persuaded young women to join the group. Mack faces a lengthy prison sentence. She pleaded guilty in 2019.
Officials now say Mack could get a reduced sentence for helping prosecutors in their case against NXIVM. She provided footage of Raniere discussing a branding ritual in which his slaves were tattooed with his initials.
Raniere denied his involvement in the ritual, but prosecutors referred to the tape repeatedly during the trial. On the tape, Raniere spoke to Mac about specific elements of the ceremony.
The former actress was arrested by the FBI in 2018 on charges of sex trafficking, conspiracy to traffic and conspiracy to commit forced labor in connection with her work for NXIVM.
