Snapchat announced the launch of a competitor TikTok

The company poaches users from other platforms, promising the most popular of them to pay fees of $1 million per day.

Snapchat has announced the launch of a short video format – Spotlight. This feature has already been dubbed a competitor to TikTok, and it is true, because the company promises to pay royalties to the most popular content makers.

Snapchat lures influencers to its new platform, integrated within the application. From November 23 to the end of 2020, popular bloggers will receive a fee of $1 million per day. In total, $45 million will be spent. It is planned to make payments to users from different countries, such as the U.S., Germany, France and Canada. The amount of the fee will depend on the number of unique views.

There are several other conditions: the content must be original (you can’t adopt trends), video – vertical, duration not more than 1 min., creators must be older than 16 years, music must be selected from the Snapchat audio library, and the presence of hashtag “topic”.

Videos will get to the recommended ones thanks to special algorithms. Those videos, which will get the most likes, repostings, views, will be marked by the company management, and their authors will receive a fee.

It should be noted that the recommended videos will include not only the videos from open, but also from closed accounts. The function of commenting is not provided, but you can send your comments to the creators in person.
