Future space tourists will be able to buy their space suit after their flight into orbit, said General Director of “Glavkosmos” Dmitry Loskutov on the margins of the International Conference on Space Exploration GLEX-2021 in St. Petersburg.
“If the customer of such a flight wants to buy his spacesuit, descent vehicle or some objects that would remind him of his journey – within reasonable limits, of course – we are ready to consider such requests and, if possible, to meet the demand for them,” he said.
Loskutov added that “Glavkosmos” also deals with the organization of commercial space tourism and flights for explorers.
Earlier it was reported that Roskosmos may transfer control of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS) to a private company in 2026-2028. Dmitry Rogozin, director general of the state corporation, called the new way to earn money from the international project. According to him, the potential of the ISS “is exhausted, but absolutely not to the end,” in connection with which it is necessary to determine the terms of Roskosmos’ participation in the international project.
