The American company SpaceX billionaire Ilon Mask is going to create a floating offshore platform on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Texas to launch rockets to the Moon and Mars. This was reported by Independent.

It is specified that with the help of such a cosmodrome not only missile launches to the Moon and Mars will be carried out, but also hypersonic flights around the Earth.

According to preliminary data, SpaceX was going to build floating platforms for launches of the heavy reusable Starship spacecraft. Such flights will allow you to move between continents in just 30-40 minutes.

In January, Musk claimed that he planned to send a million people to Mars by 2050. He expects that by the middle of this century, an average of three ships per day will be able to go to this planet.

In September 2019, Elon Musk introduced a prototype of a reusable spacecraft capable of transporting cargo and astronauts to Mars and the Moon. The spacecraft was called Starship. Its length is 50 meters, and the mass excluding fuel and cargo is about 120 tons. During the presentation, Musk said that Starship, capable of carrying up to 100 people, could become the basis for the colonization of Mars and the Moon.
