SpaceX has launched a Falcon 9 launcher with 60 microsatellites Starlink. Network Starlink is designed to provide access to the Internet through the deployment of a large number of small satellites in low orbit, weighing up to 500 kg. This is reported by the press service of the company.
The launch from the Cape Canaveral Cosmodrome (Florida) took place at 22:59 U.S. East Coast Time (05:59 February 16, Kiev). The company’s previous launch of a rocket with a similar payload took place on February 4.
The first stage of the carrier had previously been used in five launches, but this time SpaceX employees were unable to return the Falcon 9 element to the floating platform Of Course I Still Love You in the Atlantic Ocean. This technology allows the company to reduce the cost of the next launches of carriers.
