Steven Soderbergh goes to “Oscar” – really, as the producer of the show. The Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and the ABC on Tuesday announced three experienced producers who are organizing the award ceremony 2021.
The Oscar team of producers will include director Stephen Soderbergh (“Traffic”, “Erin Brockovich”), producer, Emmy winner Jesse Collins and producer Stacy Cher. All of them will for the first time act as organizers of the ceremony of awarding the main world cinema prize.
“The upcoming “Oscar” is an ideal occasion for innovation and rethinking of the award ceremony possibilities. It is a dream team that will reflect the time,” said Academy President David Rubin.
Usually, the Oscars are held in February or March to close the Hollywood awards season, but the next ceremony will be held in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The “Oscar” will be shown live on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
