Hurricane Elsa continues to rage in the U.S., which has already reached New York. Severe thunderstorms and powerful downpours literally flooded the city: the streets and subways of New York were in the water.
Video posted on social media shows people crossing a flooded station in northern Manhattan, while at a station downtown the water seemed to pour from the ceiling, and at a station in the Bronx the rain torrents poured like a waterfall down the stairs.
Several boulevards in New York City were flooded.
In addition, golf ball-sized hail was reported in New Jersey, and tornadoes formed in North Carolina and Georgia.
