Suspect in Nashville motor home bombing never came to police attention

Investigators still trying to establish motive behind Christmas Day bombing

US investigators say the man behind the Christmas Day car bombing in Nashville has not previously come to their attention.

They are still trying to find a motive for him to set off the explosion that injured three people.

“He was not a person identified as a person of interest to the bureau, so we were not aware of him before this incident,” Tennessee Bureau of Investigation director David Rausch told reporters during a conference at Zoom.

Authorities on Sunday identified Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, as the man who blew up a motor home in Nashville, Tennessee, thereby killing himself.

The explosion damaged dozens of buildings and disrupted telecommunications systems in an area with many country music bars and restaurants.

Rausch said Monday that Warner’s mother is cooperating with the investigation, but the motives for the blast remain unclear.
