Switzerland approves use of Pfizer vaccine

Switzerland has approved a Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for use. This is stated in the report of the drug market surveillance body Swissmedic.

No other coronavirus vaccine has previously been approved in the country. Pfizer’s candidate was the first.

“According to data evaluated by the Swiss Therapeutic Goods Regulatory Agency, the level of protection provided seven days after the second injection of the vaccine exceeds 90%,” Swissmedic reported.
