Tesla intends to freeze production of two premium cars for 18 days

CNBC has received an internal Tesla email that reveals the automaker will close production for the Model S and Model X between 24 December and 11 January, or 18 days. The company noted in a separate email that demand for its cars was “slightly higher” than anticipated during the quarter. However, there is clearly interest in the more affordable Model 3 and Model Y.
