In connection to the murders, a person of interest has been sought. Police have not been able determine if the killings were the work of one or several people.
Stanley McFadden, Stockton’s chief of police, stated that these incidents occur in the darkness hours, and are not occurring in areas lit by lights.
Police announced that an $85,000 cash reward was offered to anyone who leads to an arrest in any investigation.
Stockton Police Department is searching for the perpetrators of the serial killings. Sister station KCRA is collecting information about the five victims.
Three of the victims have been identified by family.
- Paul Alexander Yaw, 35 years old
- 43-year-old Salvador William Dubedy Jr.
- Hispanic 21-year-old man
- Hispanic man, 52 years old
- 52-year-old Lorenzo Lopez
Stockton police believe there are no hate crimes despite the fact that most victims are Hispanic. It’s not clear at this time if the person of interest being sought is a suspect, or a witness.
Paul Alexander Yaw, 35
Paul Alexander Yaw was murdered on July 8. His family confirmed this to KCRA.
Greta Bogrow (his mother) said that her son Paul was “my son, he was great man with big heart,” in a statement. He was a father to me, a nephew, brother, grandson and cousin, and was greatly loved by all. We have a big hole in our hearts. I hope the person or persons responsible catch him before it happens again.
Yaw was taken to the hospital shortly after midnight, around 12:30 a.m. at a park located in the 5600 block Kermit Lane. He died at the hospital from his injuries. KCRA 3 was told by a neighbor that she heard gunshots.
Bogrow claimed that her son was not housed at the time of he died.
Salvador William Dubedy Jr., 43
Salvador William Dubedy Jr. was murdered on August 11, according to family members and KCRA.
Stockton native Dubedy.
He was found in a parking area on the 4900 block West Lane and shot at 9:49 PM, police stated. Officers located him with a gunshot wound on his body and began life-saving measures. The shooting occurred about five minutes after the first homicide.
Analydia Lopez Dubeday’s spouse says she discovered about all the homicides via social media. She is angry that Stockton police hasn’t reached her to provide her family with information.
Lorenzo Lopez, 54
Lorenzo Lopez was murdered on September 27, according to family members and KCRA.
The man was shot in the 900 block off Porter Avenue just before 2 AM, according to police. Officers arrived to find the victim on the sidewalk, with a gunshot wound. Police declared him dead on the spot. Family members who were grieving have set up a shrine at the spot.
Jerry Lopez, the brother of Lorenzo, said that Lorenzo’s mother and father were “just heartbroken” by this. “That was their first baby boy. He is a special baby boy to me.
Jerry Lopez hopes that Stockton Police Department’s announcement of offering reward money and searching for a person or interest in the killing of his brother and other suspects will have an impact.
