Corpus Christi’s base was temporarily blocked on Thursday morning after reports of an active shooter, Navy reports. The man who opened fire at the Texas base around 6 a.m. was quickly neutralized. His identity has not been disclosed. It was later reported that investigators, who were establishing all the details of the case, equated the attack with terrorism.
A Navy officer who was injured by the shooting is in a stable condition and will be discharged from the hospital in the next 24 hours.
