Defender of Liverpool and the Netherlands national team Virgil van Dyck is close to signing a new contract with the club.
The agreement provides for an increase in the player’s weekly salary from 200 thousand to 245 thousand euros, which will be a record salary in the history of the Reds. The contract will be signed for five years. According to the source, the 28-year-old Dutchman was actively interested in the French PSG, but van Dyck rejected the offer of the Parisians.
Van Dyck has been playing for Liverpool since January 2018. He previously defended the colors of Southampton, Celtic and Groningen. This season, the Premier League, which is due to resume on June 17, the defender played 29 matches in which he scored four goals and made one assist. He also has four goals in 33 meetings in the Netherlands national team.
