The Duke of Sussex arrived Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles on an American Airlines flight. Harry’s return to the U.S. means he won’t be around to celebrate his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday on Wednesday, as previously thought. According to insiders, the prince felt it was more important to return home to his pregnant wife Meghan Markle and baby Archie.
Harry will now undergo a 10-day quarantine recommended by the CDC for international travelers. Note that the Duke of Sussex did manage to talk to relatives after the scandalous interview.
On Saturday, Elizabeth II experienced double grief as the queen lost a longtime friend on the day of her husband Prince Philip’s funeral. Equine expert Sir Michael Oswald, who worked for nearly 30 years as manager of the Royal Studs, died Saturday after a long illness. He was 86 years old.
Oswald was regularly photographed with the queen, who was an avid racing fan, and was appointed a Knight of the Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO). The racing adviser was also close to the Queen Mother before her death 19 years ago, and his wife, Lady Angela, was one of the late royal family’s maid of honor.
