The death of a hanged African American is officially recognized as suicide

The death of Robert Fuller, found hanging from a tree in Palmdale, has been officially recognized as suicide, according to California authorities.

Last month, 24-year-old Robert Fuller was found hanging from a tree in Palmdale. Los Angeles County investigators said he had a history of self-harm and talked about suicide.

A thorough investigation revealed no signs of murder, coroner Matthew J. Miller confirmed.

The Fuller family and many locals questioned the investigator’s initial conclusion, claiming that he was lynched by racists amid the unrest caused by the death of George Floyd.
