Water can help stop smoking, said Andrei Demin, president of the Russian Public Health Association, professor at Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, in an interview with Sputnik Radio.
“A bottle of water in hand will allow a smoker to take something in his hands. Smoking is an action in which hands are engaged. Therefore, a sip of water to some extent can replace it, ”he said.
According to Demin, water also helps to cope with a headache that can occur after a person has quit smoking. In addition, with the help of water, toxic substances obtained from cigarettes are washed out of the body.
