The doctor who gave U.S. leader Donald Trump a certificate of “the healthiest president,” died.
Harold Bornstein was the politician’s former doctor. The reasons for his death are not specified, but it is known that it happened on January 8.
Bornstein was fired from his position as Trump’s attending physician in 2017. CNN points out that it happened after he “angered the president”: he told The New York Times that he had prescribed the president a drug to treat hair loss.
Politico believes that relations between Trump and Bornstein deteriorated back in 2016. At that time, the latter nonchalantly stated that the president might pass away in office. “If something happens to him, it will happen. Just like with all of us, won’t it? We have the vice president, the speaker of the House, and a whole list of other people for a reason. They can go on dying in peace,” the doctor said.
Bornstein had become widely known before, during the 2016 campaign. At the time, he claimed that Trump had excellent health and extraordinary stamina and would be the healthiest man ever elected president. In 2018, the doctor admitted that the politician himself dictated this statement to him.
