Christopher Ray, director of the FBI, said foreign opponents in the past have already tried to reinforce controversy in the United States. The counterintelligence agency is now exploring the possibility of foreign interference in the context of the recent BLM mass protests.

“Of course, we saw how various foreign opponents tried to foster controversy in our country using government media and social networks,” Ray said. In an interview with Fox News, he noted that he meant propaganda, misinformation and distortion of facts.

“We are carefully examining the issue of potential foreign influence or interference in the context of all the protests held in recent weeks.”
