The U.S. Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin said that he held a discussion concerning trade with the head of National bank of the People’s Republic of China I Gunn on fields of a ministerial meeting of the countries of “twenty” in Japan.
“Held a constructive meeting with the head of the People’s Bank of China And Gunn during which we had a frank discussion on trade questions”, – Mnuchin on Twitter said.
The Finance Minister of the USA emphasized that the main progress in negotiations on trade can be made at a meeting of the American president Donald Trump and the Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit of the G20.
The final round of the American-Chinese negotiations on trade came to the end in the middle of May without results against the background of the next increase in the American duties on the Chinese goods. The USA raised taxes from 10% to 25% for the Chinese import for the sum about 200 billion dollars.
The U.S. President also charged to begin process of increase in duties on all remained import of China which is estimated approximately at 300 billion dollars. In reply the Chinese Ministry of Finance reported that Beijing since June 1 introduced increased taxes on import of goods from the USA of 60 billion dollars.
