The number of coronavirus infections in the world has exceeded 65 million

The number of coronavirus infections in the world has exceeded the mark of 65 million. This is evidenced by data from the Johns Hopkins University monitoring project.

At the time of writing the news the number of infected in 191 countries is 65,048,192 people. The largest number of infected was registered in the United States – 14.1 million people. India took second place with 9.5 million patients. The top three is Brazil with 6.4 million patients. Russia was in fourth place with 2.3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Earlier on December 4 it was reported that the number of deceased patients with coronavirus reached one and a half million.

Two COVID-19 vaccines have been registered in Russia so far. The first to be registered was a drug called Sputnik V developed by the Gamaleya Center. On October 14 President Vladimir Putin announced registration of “EpiVacCorona” from center “Vector”. The vaccine contains no biological agent, but synthetic analogues of viral protein sites.
