The number of suicides has risen sharply in Japan

In Japan, the number of suicides has increased dramatically. In October, 2153 people died. This is even more than the number of deaths from coronavirus, there are 2087 people in the country. People’s mental health was affected by isolation and a pandemic.

Women suffer the most. In a patriarchal society, it is very difficult for them to cope with difficulties alone. In October, suicides among women of the weaker sex in Japan increased by almost 83 percent compared to the same month the previous year. In comparison, suicide rates among men increased by nearly 22 percent over the same period.

Another big problem is the suicidal tendencies of teenagers. According to surveys, 75% of schoolchildren are stressed by the pandemic.
