Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other senior Democrats in the US House of Representatives have engaged in a verbal squabble with the director of the National Center for Counterintelligence and Security, William Evanin, over keeping politicians in the dark about the details of an investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2020 presidential campaign. This is reported by the Politico edition.
So, Pelosi said at the end of the briefing that the US presidential administration is “hiding” evidence of interference in the elections.
According to the newspaper, the Democrats called Evanin’s assertion about the intervention of China, Russia and Iran too vague, and therefore senseless.
One national intelligence official said he was disappointed with Evanin, a man with 30 years of experience in the federal service who was unable to protect classified information.
