The trailer of the movie Mauritanian with Benedict Cambatch is out

The Moorish film, based on real history, received its first trailer.
The network published the debut trailer of the Anglo-American film “The Mauritanian”, based on real events (also mentioned in some sources as “Prisoner Number 760”) of British director Kevin McDonald (known to us from the film “The Last Hero of Scotland”).

The events of the film will tell about a prisoner of the American base Guantanamo Mohamed Ouldk Salahi, who was kept in incredibly cruel conditions without any explanation for fourteen years – from 2002 to 2016.

Throughout this time, he kept a diary, which was later published with significant bills of the American intelligence services under the title “Guantánamo Diary” and had an unprecedented success among readers.

Despite the almost hopeless situation, Salahi is assisted by lawyer Nancy Hollander and her assistant Teri Duncan. In the course of the trial, thanks to the meticulous care of military prosecutor Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Cauch, the court becomes aware of the circumstances worthy of being captured on the pages of an acute detective with elements of conspiracy.
The role of Mohamed Ould Salahi will be played by Tahar Rahim (“Black Gold”, “Anarchists”), Hollander’s lawyer will be Jody Foster (“X-Files”, “Card House”, “Black Mirror”), and the military prosecutor – Benedict Cumberbatch (“Dr. Strange”, “Sherlock”, “Patrick Melrose”), who for this role once again worked on a plausible American accent.
The world premiere of the film will be held on February 18, 2021, the date of the film in Russian distribution is not known at the moment.
