Candidate for the post of Permanent Representative to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said the need to “find a way to work” with Russia in the UN Security Council on issues where countries have common interests.
She said Russia’s actions against the U.S. have been “aggressive and hostile.” “And we really have to respond aggressively to their actions. (…) I will look forward to working with them on issues such as, for example, the situation with Iran,” Thomas-Greenfield said.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov said that Moscow hopes for a new chapter in relations with Washington in connection with Joe Biden’s accession to the U.S. presidency. According to the ambassador, the Russian side has a concrete program for the development of relations with the United States.
