The U.S. expanded sanctions against Belarus: who made it to the list?

The United States of America have imposed new sanctions against Belarus.

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the list includes 16 individuals and five organizations and agencies.

The list includes the KGB of Belarus, as well as Chief Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption, Interior Ministry, Department of Internal Affairs of Brestoblispolkom, Minsk Centre for Criminals’ Isolation on Okrestina.

Presidential press secretary Natalia Eismont, speaker of the Upper Chamber of Parliament Natalia Kochanova, commander of special riot police unit Alfa Sergei Zubkov, head of Minsk police Mikhail Grib, Deputy Minister of Justice Sergei Kalinouski and Prosecutor General of Belarus Andrei Shved are among the individuals subject to sanctions.

In addition, sanctions were imposed on Ivan Tertel, chairman of the State Security Committee of the Republic, and Nikolai Karpenkov, commander of the internal troops.
