The U.S. imposed sanctions against the Russian Defense Ministry

The US Department of Commerce named Russian and Chinese organizations that allegedly cooperate with the armed forces of the two countries. The list is published on the website of the agency.

In particular, among the Russian organizations, the sanctions were imposed on the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Progress Rocket and Space Center, Rosoboronexport, as well as Rostec Corporation, MiG, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, Tupolev, and the United Aircraft Corporation. Also, for the first time since 2014, Rosatom enterprises were on the list.

A total of 41 Russian and 58 Chinese organizations are on the list. Irkut Corporation is mentioned there three times, and United Aircraft Corporation and Kazan Helicopter Plant twice.

It became known on December 18 that the US Department of Commerce had imposed new sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions were imposed on those allegedly involved in activities “that are contrary to national security or U.S. interests in international politics.
