Joe Biden’s administration is seeking to expand the Abraham Accords and is working to strengthen existing arrangements.
U.S. officials declined to publicly name the countries they consider promising to sign the agreement. According to the publication, the 11-day fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has made it difficult for Washington-backed diplomacy to reach new agreements.
It is specified that the Biden administration is considering appointing former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro as Middle East envoy to strengthen and expand agreements between Israel and Middle East governments.
Work is also underway to develop business, educational and other ties among the four Arab states that have signed the Abrahamic Accords with Israel.
