These funds, according to the grant documentation, will support a media training program in Serbia with the aim of “strengthening the capacity of Serbian journalism and ensuring a free flow of accurate data to inform Serbian citizens”.

“Projects may aim at: educating students and other media users about recognizing knowingly false, distorted and propaganda information in the news and internet, as well as how to respond and combat it,” the application says.

The program also includes courses on news resource management, the study of “media freedom” and the role of free press in “democratic society.
