Every fourth person infected with coronavirus in the USA has no symptoms, which explains the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 in the country and the whole world.
In this regard, the United States plans to oblige all residents to wear medical masks to reduce the risks of spread and infection with coronavirus.
This decision is made at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Its director, Robert Redfield, notes that one in four patients with coronavirus in the United States has no symptoms. This probably explains how the virus continues to spread throughout the country, even with the adoption of stringent restrictions.
To date, more than 189,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported in the United States, health officials believe their number is much higher.
In this regard, the CDC is considering changing the rules regarding who should wear masks.
“The data that we have largely confirmed is that a significant number of infected people are actually asymptomatic. There may be as many as 25%. This is important because there are people with no signs of disease, but they are infected and contribute to the transmission of coronavirus “Said Redfield.
The CDC director said asymptomatic people can transmit the virus 48 hours before any symptoms appear. Because of this data, the agency is considering advising the general public to wear masks whenever they go outside.
Redfield warned that over the next 24 months the virus will have some effect on the daily life of all of humanity.
