Legislatively obliging US President Donald Trump to report on his property abroad was proposed by US Democratic Senator Tom Yudall. He wrote about this on July 2 on his Twitter page.
“We have filed an amendment to the law on national defense, which requires the president to disclose financial information about foreign property owned or controlled by the Trump organization,” the senator said.
He explained his proposal by saying that Congress should know about foreign policy decisions that are made by the president based on his interests in business.
Earlier, an attempt to gain access to Donald Trump’s economic reporting was made through the US Supreme Court.
