In Syria, 494,438 people have died in the war from 2011 to the present.

This was reported by France24, citing data from the Syrian Center for Human Rights Monitoring.

The vast majority of these deaths occurred between late 2012 and November 2015,

He noted that the Syrian Center for Human Rights Monitoring recently confirmed more than 42,000 deaths. Of these, most died as a result of torture in prisons.
