Three policemen were killed in an attack in the Puy-de-Dome department in central France.

It is known that firearms were used in the attack. At least one other policeman was injured. The information was confirmed by the French law enforcement authorities, who also reported that the operation is still in progress.

It is reported that police officers arrived on a call about domestic violence. A 48-year-old man opened fire on the visiting gendarmes. The woman who called them took refuge from her abuser on the roof of the house, she was unharmed at the time of publication.

In November, against the background of a series of attacks by Islamic terrorists, it became known of an attempt to kill an Orthodox priest in Lyon. The attacker was found to be a 40-year-old Georgian, and the motive was jealousy: his wife had a secret intimate relationship with the priest.
