TikTok and WeChat will be banned in the US from September 20

In the United States, from September 20, Chinese applications TikTok and WeChat will be banned.

The country’s Ministry of Commerce is introducing a ban on downloading Chinese services, according to a statement published on the ministry’s website. The US authorities believe that the TikTok app can transfer users’ personal data to the Chinese government.

Recall that in August, Donald Trump signed the decrees “On Combating the WeChat Threat” and “On Combating the TikTok Threat.”

TikTok said the decree “threatens to undermine the confidence of global business in the US commitment to the rule of law.”
