Time put Putin and Biden’s meeting on the cover

U.S. Time magazine put U.S. President Joe Biden, wearing black glasses, on the cover.

Biden’s Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, is reflected in the glasses.

Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov said the cover with the Russian and U.S. presidents showed recognition of the Russian leader’s authority.

Pushkov expressed confidence that the Time cover “reflects what Biden is thinking right now.”

“Once again, it speaks to the role of the individual and the country behind him in world politics. A peculiar but unambiguous recognition by a liberal publication of the weight of Russia and its leader,” the senator added.

As Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel, it would not have occurred to anyone to portray Ukrainian or Polish leaders Vladimir Zelensky or Andrzej Duda in this way.
