The Senate confirmed Tom Vilsack as Secretary of Agriculture in Joe Biden’s administration, returning him to the post he held for eight years under President Barack Obama.

A former governor of Iowa, Vilsack was confirmed to the post Tuesday by 92 votes in favor, with 7 against.

Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Debbie Stabenow said the “deep understanding of agriculture and rural America” that Vilsack possesses is “more needed today than ever.”
