Trump accused of ignoring early coronavirus warnings

U.S. President Donald Trump has ignored early reports of the start of the coronavirus epidemic due to concerns about a deal with China. It is reported by Interfax with reference to the former adviser to the US President on national security, John Bolton.

According to him, the head of state did not want to hear about something that could complicate the conclusion of an agreement with the PRC. He also did not want to heed the warnings about the impact of the impending pandemic on the American economy and its re-election. Bolton said that ignoring the problem on the part of the president has led the government to cope with the epidemic. He noted that the reaction at the federal level to the threat was not consistent.

Earlier, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) admitted that it does not have enough information to draw any conclusions about the origin of coronavirus. At the same time, the FBI Director, in connection with the fact that the pandemic began in China, said that no other country poses a greater threat to American values, economic security and democratic views than the PRC.

Washington, in turn, has repeatedly criticized China. In March, Trump accused China of not informing the world community about the outbreak of coronavirus. According to him, it would be better if the authorities of other countries knew about this a few months earlier.
