Robert O’Brien is sure that Beijing was hiding information about the coronavirus, and compared this with the actions of the USSR after the Chernobyl accident.
US Presidential National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien compared China’s reaction to the outbreak of coronavirus with the Soviet response to the Chernobyl disaster.
According to O’Brien, both cases of the authorities of the countries at first tried to hide. At the same time, he referred to the 2019 miniseries Chernobyl.
“It was a virus released by China. There was a concealment of information,” said the adviser.
O’Brien emphasized that “it doesn’t matter if it was local officials or the Chinese Communist Party, it was a cover-up, and in the end we get to the point.”
He also expressed confidence that the United States would develop its own vaccine earlier than China, but allowed the possibility of an attempt to steal information about it from Beijing.
