Trump announced the start of COVID-19 vaccination in the U.S.

U.S. President Donald Trump called the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine one of the greatest scientific achievements in history. He reacted this way to the fact that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has licensed the drug for emergency use.

“I have really good news: our country achieved a medical miracle today. We were able to get a safe vaccine in nine months,” the head of state shared, noting that he was happy.

According to the American leader, vaccination will begin in less than 24 hours. He assured that Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are absolutely safe.

Pfizer’s granting of the license became known earlier on December 12. The decision means that millions of people will be able to be vaccinated in the next few days. Medics and the elderly will be the first to receive the drug, and delivery of the vaccine will begin within 24 hours after it is licensed.

To date, there are several vaccines against COVID-19 in the world. For example, two vaccines have been registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V started in Moscow. A COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer/BioNTech has been registered in the United States, with another Moderna vaccine on the way.
