US President Donald Trump got angry over the publication of a new book by former National Security Assistant John Bolton, “The Room Where It Happened: Memories of the White House,” which reveals “top-secret information.” He told about it on air of Fox News.
The American leader accused Bolton of breaking the law. The head of the White House explained that his former assistant did not receive approval for the dissemination of data.
Earlier, the US Department of Justice sued Bolton in connection with the upcoming publication of his memoirs. US authorities said the book revealed classified information and demanded to ban the publication of Bolton’s work.
In the book, he, in particular, criticized Trump’s policy, saying that he could not name a single significant decision of the president, which was not intended for re-election. In addition, Bolton accuses the American president of having weakened the country’s opposition to growing threats.
A former presidential adviser also claims that Trump asked President Xi Jinping to help him win the election in 2020 and did not want to provide military assistance to Ukraine. In addition, Bolton revealed that the head of state was interested in whether Finland was part of Russia, and did not know that Britain was a nuclear power.
Trump fired Bolton in September last year. The president explained this by “serious mistakes” made by the adviser. In November, it became known about Bolton’s plans to write memoirs for two million dollars.
