Member of the European Parliament from Estonia Jaak Madison nominated former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He wrote about it in his Facebook.
Madison explained that Trump became the first president of the United States in the last 30 years who did not start new wars. In addition, the politician signed a number of peace agreements, “helped ensure stability and peace in the region.” This includes agreements to normalize relations between Arab countries and Israel.
“Due to the fact that nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize can also be nominated by members of parliament, I took advantage of this opportunity. The deadline was midnight on January 31, and I did it exactly two hours before the deadline,” Madison revealed.
On September 11, it became known that Trump had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize once again in recent times. One of the authors of this initiative believes that the American president deserves it for the reconciliation of Israel and the United Arab Emirates, another – that he should be awarded for the normalization of relations between Serbia and the partially recognized republic of Kosovo.
