Trump was reproached for the inability to speak with Putin on equal terms

Former Assistant to US President Donald Trump for National Security, John Bolton, assessed the ability of the head of state to conduct a dialogue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on an equal footing. He spoke about this on the air of the WPTV channel

Bolton rebuked Trump for lacking the training to speak with Putin as equals. He expressed confidence that the US president is inferior to the leader of Russia in the ability to think strategically.

Bolton said that if you put someone like Putin at the table on the one hand, and on the other hand, Trump, “relatively ill-informed, did not study much history, does not have a clear idea of how he wants to conduct a conversation,” it will not be a fair fight.

Bolton said in June that Putin is preparing for meetings better than his American counterpart. According to him, Putin knows the people he is talking to, keeps the desired goals in his head and ponders his words. “I believe this is a level of preparation, scrupulousness, planning ahead that just doesn’t fit with Trump,” Bolton said.

Trump sacked Bolton last September. The president explained this by “serious mistakes” that the subordinate made.
