Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu congratulated Azerbaijan after reaching an agreement to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. The corresponding post appeared on Twitter.
“Dear Azerbaijan has achieved significant success at the front and at the negotiating table. I sincerely congratulate you on this happy achievement. We will continue to be one people, one heart with our Azerbaijani brothers, ”the message says.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia stated that the war in Nagorno-Karabakh “did not end fully.” At the same time, representatives of the Armenian military noted that the army will fulfill all decisions of the country’s leadership.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh from November 10. Under the agreement, a Russian peacekeeping contingent will be brought into the region. The signing of the document provoked riots in Yerevan. The protesters broke into parliament, the speaker of the national assembly was beaten.
The territorial conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh escalated sharply on September 27 after Azerbaijan announced provocations from the Armenian side and launched an offensive. Since then, the parties have agreed on a ceasefire three times, but each time these agreements have not been respected.
