Former employees of TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres broke the silence about the toxic work environment on her show.
Several former employees of Ellen DeGeneres have previously come out with unkind words about the star. And this week, one of the current and 10 former employees of The Ellen DeGeneres Show said they faced racism, fear and intimidation, and that executive producers and senior staff were guilty of creating a toxic work environment.
“Be kind” is a slogan only when the cameras are on. This is for show. I know they give money to people and help them, but this is for show, ”says a former employee for BuzzFeed News.
The report contains many unflattering statements. Some employees say they were fired from the show shop because they took medical leave or after a family funeral. One African-American woman quit her job after she couldn’t tolerate uncontrolled racist comments and bouts of microaggression.
Also, some of the former employees claim that they were ordered not to speak with DeJener if they see her in the office. Basically, they all talk about bullying on a daily basis and that DeGeneres is up to date.
