The shooter turned out to be Victor Lee Tucker Jr. who was shot by the deputy sheriff. The bandit was arrested as he tried to crawl out the front door of the store. He was wounded but would survive.

“Tucker went straight to the cash register, pulled out his gun and shot the cashier. He then began shooting at the sheriff’s deputy, who tried to intervene,” the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

The cashier was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said. The deputy was wearing a vest and it saved his life: he was wounded and is in stable condition.
