The U.S. Coast Guard patrol ship Hamilton is headed to the Black Sea, the U.S. 6th Fleet Task Force said.

The ship is moving through the straits in the northern direction to the Black Sea, the report said.

It is indicated that while in the Black Sea, Hamilton will “interact with NATO allies and partners in the region.”

According to the 6th Fleet, on Monday, April 26, it conducted exercises in the Aegean Sea with the USS Roosevelt, which along with a similar ship, the Donald Cook, were due to enter the Black Sea in mid-April.

At the last moment the US decided not to send them to the Black Sea, so as not to increase tension in the region.
