As part of its continued military assistance, the United States will arm two more brigades of the Iraqi Kurdistan Peshmerga forces. This was announced on November 8 by Major General Bakhtiyar Mohammed, military adviser and member of the high council for reforming the Peshmerga ministry.
According to him, Washington “will equip two more brigades of the Peshmerga forces with modern and advanced weapons that will play an important role in the future of these military forces.”
Regarding the ongoing efforts to reform the Peshmerga ministry, Mohammed noted that at least five subcommittees have been established to implement the reform law. “One of the committees is reorganizing and organizing the files and documents of government officials and officers of the Peshmerga ministry,” he said.
