In an interview with The American Press, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken outlined his expectations for the summit between President Biden and President Putin. According to him, the United States is ready for a more stable and predictable relationship with Russia if it changes course.
“The meeting will make it clear that if Russia chooses a different course in its actions, we would prefer a more stable relationship. That will benefit our people, the Russian people, the whole world,” Blinken said about the upcoming meeting.
Blinken noted that the upcoming summit will show how ready Moscow is to strengthen relations. If Russia continues its “aggressive and reckless actions” toward the U.S., there will be a response, he said.
