The United States will create an international coalition to punish states that harbor cyber criminals.
U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made a statement to this effect during a conversation with members of Congress.
“We are working on a strategy to counter ransomware viruses to protect our networks. This includes building an international coalition to hold accountable those countries that harbor those responsible for cyberattacks,” Blinken said.
According to the U.S. secretary of state, federal agencies and the private sector in the United States need to step up their defense against cyberattacks.
